Job Description
The Phlebotomist will be responsible for drawing blood from patients using aseptic techniques, ensuring the correct amount and type of specimen is obtained. They will document all requests and accurately release lab work results, informing physicians of released lab results. Additionally, the Phlebotomist will complete appropriate routing, handling, and processing of various medical specimens, order, distribute, and stock supplies as needed, and train and report on the work performance of other lab assistants.
Responsibilities
+ Draw blood from patients' fingers, heel, or vein using aseptic techniques.
+ Obtain the correct amount and type of specimen.
+ Document all requests and accurately release lab work results.
+ Inform physicians of released lab results.
+ Complete appropriate routing, handling, and processing of various medical specimens.
+ Order, distribute, and stock supplies as needed.
+ Train and report on the work performance of other lab assistants.
+ Draw blood from 60-80 patients daily.
Essential Skills
+ 1 year of experience as a Phlebotomist.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Cerner is a plus.
+ Computer savvy.
Work Environment
The position is in an outpatient clinic in a fast-paced environment where the Phlebotomist will draw one person every six minutes. The work hours are either from am to 3:30 pm or from 2 pm to 10:30 pm. The role offers an opportunity to work within a great team and has the potential to become permanen
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
