Job Responsibilities:
- Support inspection activities using ITP and engineering drawings.
- Provide specialized welding & inspection support for construction to ensure compliance with all code and Client procedures.
- Help manage the issue of weld filler materials for welders to meet Client and Code requirements.
- Plan NDE activities of welding and coordinate with construction and Client LFWE to support the overall construction schedule.
- Monitor welding qualification to ensure high-quality welders are being tested and hired.
- Maintain welder qualifications and welder stamps.
- Work extended schedules and night shifts as required to support project execution plans.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and provide leadership for site safety, environmental, and health programs.
- Provide technical assistance regarding Pre/PWHT, Welding, and NDE.
- Support and maintain Project Field Welder Testing program.
- Ensure construction meets all code and site requirements.
- Implement the project ES&H program and quality control program.
- Support maintenance of calibrations for Pre/PWHT equipment.
- Perform inspections and documentation of all welding, NDE, and Pre/PWHT activities.
- Prepare material requisitions and maintain inventory for Pre/PWHT equipment and materials.
- Coordinate work activities and training of direct hire Pre/PWHT personnel.
- Support crafts in meeting quality requirements to maintain cost and schedule.
- Verify materials, workmanship, and specification/code requirements.
- Interface with the lead welding engineer for direction of work tasks.
- Oversee inspections and documentation of subcontractor welding & NDE work.
- Troubleshoot engineering design and resolve issues with engineering and/or fabricator.
- Coach lower-level engineers within the welding discipline.
- Maintain weld inspection tracking system using Client-specific automation tools.
- Interface with the Lead Welding Engineer for direction of work assigned tasks.
Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in direct hire welding and NDE on LNG projects.
- NDE Certifications including PT, MT, and LT (Vac Box).
- Knowledge of AWS, API, NFPA, AWWA, ASTM, and ASNT codes, specifications, and standards.
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience.
- Advanced knowledge and/or certifications in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
- Intermediate understanding of Preheat/Post weld heat treatment of equipment and consumables.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction methods.
- Ability to motivate team members effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
- Experience on an LNG construction site along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
- Strong technical background in LNG welding applications and methods.
- Understanding of applicable Client work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of Piping Design Drawings/Specifications and Teamwork’s/WITS.
- Certifiable by written examination to Client's nondestructive examination requirements as NDE Level II Visual Examination.
- Knowledge of Client's SWPP 4MP-T81-03701 Welding Program, 03708 Pre/Post Weld Heat Treatment, and 03705 Welding & NDE Documentation.
- Familiarity with Client Standard Applications (BSAPs) including Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, PTR, Agile, Navisworks, WITs, Teamwork’s, Arc Stryker, Pipe Fighter, and other automation tools.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
