Job Description
This role involves supporting testing for NASA rocket engines, as NASA is outsourcing this work due to cost considerations. The ideal candidate should have 5 years of experience with rocket engine testing, both in hardware and software, along with experience in test plans and defining test requirements. The position requires knowledge in Model Analysis and the ability to work with C and Unix/Linux. This opportunity is for someone eager to own multiple parts of a project.
Responsibilities
+ Support testing for NASA rocket engines.
+ Develop and define test plans and test requirements.
+ Perform Model Analysis and software testing.
+ Update and maintain current software, with training provided.
+ Conduct hardware testing and rocket engine testing.
+ Apply mechanical system and fluid dynamics/propulsion knowledge.
+ Manage full life cycle of testing in a cross-functional manner.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience with rocket engine testing.
+ Experience in hardware and software testing cycles.
+ Proficiency in test plans, test methods, and documentation.
+ Knowledge of C, Unix/Linux, and structural analysis using Nastran.
+ Experience with mechanical systems and fluid dynamics/propulsion.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Background in software development and system testing.
+ Cross-functional experience in hardware and software applications.
+ Experience from small to medium-sized companies.
+ Client-facing skills and ability to handle multiple project aspects.
Work Environment
The position is based onsite in Huntsville, Alabama, with flexibility when needed, but primarily requires presence onsite. The work environment offers the ability to own multiple parts of a project and grow skills beyond what is possible in larger companies. The company is transitioning from a historical R&D focus to engineering and testing services, with multiple opportunities expected to develop this year.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $62.50/hr.
