- Education: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree)
- Additional Experience: 5+ years in the development and execution of test plans and test scripts for web-based applications; 3+ years' experience with Atlassian software such as JIRA and Confluence; experience developing, documenting, and maintaining functional test cases, test data, and automated scripts.

Responsibilities:

- As the Sr. Appian Test Engineer, you will:

- Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts such as test data, data validation, harness scripts, and automated scripts.
- Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
- Have significant experience testing Appian and be proficient in different software testing methodologies.
- Work in an agile environment with rapidly changing requirements.
- Interact effectively with customers and stakeholders.
- Work independently under limited supervision and as part of a larger team while managing multiple task assignments.
- Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
- Support all aspects of user acceptance testing by the primary customer and/or users.
- Adapt test automation to suit project needs and create clear, detail-oriented test plans.
- Liaise with development and engineering support teams for troubleshooting and collaborate with team members (Development, Testing Engineers, Scrum Master), Product Owner, and Business partners to ensure proper testing methodologies are used and that product requirements/issues are diagnosed and documented.
- Provide technical guidance to mid-level developers as needed.
- Work closely with the release manager to ensure the completion of key tasks such as deployment, code baseline, merge, and version control.

We are seeking a Sr. Appian Test Engineer to join our team supporting the FDA, the federal agency responsible for protecting public health through the assurance of safety, efficacy, and security in various domains including drugs and medical devices. In this role, you will be engaged in all phases of the development lifecycle, participating in design sessions and supporting program tasks like design reviews and production troubleshooting. The position is hybrid, requiring your presence in Gaithersburg, MD, twice a month.

Additionally, candidates should note that this position requires a Public Trust Clearance. You must have resided in the United States for at least three of the last five years.
