Under direction of the Special Agent-in-Charge, the Special Agent Supervisor (SAS) plans, directs, and supervises Special Agents in criminal, civil, financial and gambling investigations. The SAS reviews team member's Time Reporting System entries and investigative reports in the Case Information Management System; provides coordination, training, and specialized operational support to local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, and evaluates team member's performance. The incumbent conducts the more difficult, complex or sensitive investigations; plans and develops training relative to enforcement and maintains and allocates state funds for undercover operations and informant payments.

Agents with an Associate of Science, Associate of Arts, or Intermediate POST certificate will receive a 2.5% salary differential of the base pay. Agents with a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Advanced POST certificate will receive a 5% salary differential of the base pay, as per Pay Differential 244.
