Job Description

PJ Mechanical is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and supplies necessary for our construction projects. Your expertise in vendor relations, inventory management, and cost analysis will play a crucial role in ensuring that our projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the procurement process for materials and supplies
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve cost savings
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate purchasing options
• Prepare and process purchase orders in a timely manner
• Monitor inventory levels and provide forecasts to prevent stock shortages
• Ensure that all purchased materials meet quality standards and project specifications
• Collaborate with project managers and other departments to understand material needs
• Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier contacts
• Assist in the resolution of any purchasing-related issues

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or similar role in the construction industry
• Strong negotiation skills and a comprehensive understanding of procurement processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in purchasing software and MS Office Suite
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy
• Basic knowledge of HVAC

SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$80,000 ANNUALLY
