We have just added a Production Scheduler’s position to our brand-new Grand Canyon Service Center or regional manufacturing facility located in Phoenix, Arizona.

What will you do as our Production Scheduler? You will play an integral part in the production planning process by helping to establish production schedules, assessing capacities and demand, as well as helping to determine forecast requirements while ensuring customer satisfaction.
You will also: - Establish production schedules, assess capacity and ensure efficient utilization of equipment.
- Estimate production time for orders giving consideration to availability of machines, materials, manufacturing backlogs, order quantities, complexity of products, etc.
- Audit work-in-process, open orders and material status to ensure we meet or exceed our customers’ needs, deadlines and budget.
- Monitor capacity vs demand by production area and take corrective actions as needed.
- Provide updates at daily production meeting in regard to the production schedules and forecast attainment.
- Assess current systems and processes and work with management to help implement improvements.
- Identify slow moving inventory and develop plans for waste reduction.
- Assist with analyzing stock levels and sales forecasts to ensure adequate inventory to meet lead times, production needs and delivery goals.
- Monitor actual output versus the Production Schedule and identify gaps.
- Work collaboratively with such departments as Production, Welding, Engineering, Supply Chain, Shipping, Order Entry and Customer Service to ensure up to date communication on scheduling, lead times, current demand and capacities.
- Perform special assignments and projects as assigned
- Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees
- Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need :
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain or related field with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar capacity or 5-7 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Previous experience in a highly configured work environment preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priority simultaneously.
- Willingness to be hands-on and take initiative to prioritize and expedite orders on the shop floor, evaluate capabilities to make customer changes, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous exposure to reading blueprints and understanding engineering drawings is a plus.
