Our employees will embrace, practice, and teach Mindfulness in our center. This practice is incorporated into all areas of our curriculum, communication, and discipline.
Available Shifts:
- 8am - 5pm:
- 9am-6pm
- 2pm - 6pm: All Classes & Afterschool (Part Time)
Duties Primary Purpose: The Lead Teacher reports to the Director, Assistant Director, or Director of Curriculum. The Lead Teacher provides the children with developmentally appropriate activities, provides a nurturing, mindful environment, and interacts with children, their parents and other staff members and volunteers.
The Lead Teacher is responsible for: � Developmentally appropriate interaction with the children.
� Provides weekly lesson plans with developmentally appropriate activities that align with the Center?s curriculum
� Maintain classroom control and management
� Arrange the room in a safe, inviting manner with centers clearly marked, toys and shelves labeled.
� Keep the classroom clean and free of clutter.
� Clean and sanitize toys daily
� Provide a normal routine by maintaining daily schedule adherence
� Must keep the Director, Assistant Director, and Director of Education informed of any parent/student issues or concerns
� Implement and maintain the Center?s policies and procedures
� Maintain student to staff ratios
� Attend and complete on-going training
� Obtain CPR certification within 90 days of hire
� Complete 15-hour Health and Safety course within 30 days of hire
� Complete 15 hours of training each year of employment with Minds in Motion Learning Center
� Additional duties as needed
Decision-making Authority The Lead Teacher must adhere to the policies and procedures of Minds in Motion Learning Center. He/she is responsible for classroom safety and sanitation. The Lead Teacher must be able to maintain a friendly/professional rapport with the staff members and parents. The Lead Teacher must notify the Owner of any limitations he/she may have to perform essential functions of the job. The Lead Teacher is encouraged to ask questions whenever unsure of a policy or a procedure.
Physical Demands: � Demonstrate full range of motion
� Be able to lift (up to) 40 lbs.
� Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.
Requirements - Familiar with, or willing to learn and implement, the practice of Mindfulness (we will train)
- Candidates must be dependable, nurturing, patient, punctual, work well with others, and have a full understanding that early childcare education is not babysitting
- Must be able to follow instructions and set curriculum as it pertains to Minds In Motions vision, mission statement, and embracement of cultural diversity
- Must have a high school diploma; prior experience working in a childcare center or an educational setting preferred but willing to train the right person
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Bilingual teachers are a plus
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Teachers in early childhood program, associate?s degree or state-certified preferred but not required
Nice To Haves At least 6 months experience in Early Childhood or related field preferred but not required.
