About The Role
The Material Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that all materials required for production are available, properly managed, and efficiently utilized. This position involves overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained to meet production demands. The Material Specialist will collaborate closely with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and logistics, to optimize material flow and minimize waste. Additionally, this role requires the analysis of material usage trends to forecast future needs and implement cost-saving measures. Ultimately, the Material Specialist contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the production process, ensuring that high-quality products are delivered on time.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience in material management or inventory control.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, ISM).
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Responsibilities
Manage inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials to meet production schedules.
Conduct regular audits of material stock and implement inventory control measures.
Collaborate with production teams to understand material requirements and adjust orders accordingly.
Analyze material usage data to identify trends and forecast future material needs.
