Under general supervision, performs technical support, preparation and installation of technology equipment of considerable difficulty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide technical assistance to end-users and front-line technicians with system access, software applications, and troubleshooting.
2. Provide local on-site and remote technical assistance for locations assigned by IT System Administrators and System Engineers.
3. Act as tier two support for Help Desk issues which tier one staff are unable to resolve.
4. Apply software updates and patches to systems.
5. Assist with network management tasks, such as monitoring network traffic, managing network devices, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
6. Assist Admin and Engineering staff in support of various system technologies including Windows Server 2016 and later, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 environment, Cisco Meraki networking equipment and system management, and user management functions within the in Microsoft Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID environment.
7. Assist IT System Administrators in other various day-to-day functions.
8. Assist in other areas as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six months of experience in the configuration, maintenance and replacement of networked systems, including the maintenance of server hardware and operating systems.
Substitution of Education for Experience: An associate’s degree in a computer-related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year of experience in the resolution of technology issues relative to Windows and/or Linux servers.
Substitutions of Experience for Education: Experience may be substituted for required degrees with a proven, minimum of two years of successfully managing Windows and/or Linux servers in a multi-user, networked environment.
Other Requirements: A valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
