Design & Showroom Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Design & Showroom Assistant will be responsible for the day to day management of the showroom, coaching, and mentoring other team members in the design and operation of the showroom, monitor inventory for all Authority Companies, and assist with general administrative tasks to support the sales and onboarding of new clients. The Design & Showroom Assistant will take an active role in supporting both the Director of Design and Interior Designers to draft and design projects for all Authority Companies and will be cross-trained to support these roles. As an expert in sales techniques, the Design & Showroom Assistant will be required to attract and secure customers and new business.

The Design & Showroom Assistant will be responsible to assist with the oversight and management of client projects and to work with the team to ensure the design coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope.

OBJECTIVES

  • Oversee the day to day management of the showroom.
  • Coach, and mentor other team members in the design and operation of the showroom.
  • Possess an in depth knowledge of the features for all products and service offerings of all Authority Companies
  • Assist in the coordination of design for the flawless execution of projects
  • Work with the team to ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Manage changes to the project design, scope, project schedule and project
  • Support the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project and design documentation
  • Meet with clients to design detailed scope of project and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Assist with the development of comprehensive design plans to be shared with clients as well as other team members
  • Cross-train in the proper techniques of interior design and drafting through collaboration and training from the Director of Design and Interior Designers

  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Outstanding communication and social skills to include good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to include good customer service skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Ability to design and create spaces that are engaging and welcoming and willingness to be trained in the aspects of interior design, cabinetry, and drafting
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, marketing, sales, design, and team management.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or relevant field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Buildertrend, SketchUp, 2020, AutoCAD, and other software platforms preferred
  • Proven experience in design, drafting, sales, or equivalent position.
  • Valid Driver’s License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to operate in various environments and varying locations.
