About Us:

New Narrative is dedicated to creating a future where everyone seeking mental health care can live the life they choose. We are committed to making a positive impact in our community through a range of clinical care, peer programs, housing and other services. Join our team and help us drive our mission forward.

Purpose:

The Financial Analyst sits on the Finance team and reports directly to the Director of Finance but may also receive directions from the Executive Team. The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the financial health of New Narrative. This position will involve analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in budget management to ensure the organization's resources are used effectively and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, ability to work independently and a passion for non-profit work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial plans.
• Collaborate with program managers to track expenditures and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
• Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to inform programmatic decisions.
• Monitor grant funding and ensure proper allocation and reporting in line with donor requirements.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and assist with audits.
• Provide recommendations for improving financial processes and controls.
• Participate in financial training for staff to enhance understanding of financial management.
• Stay informed about financial regulations and best practices in the non-profit sector.

Experience/Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting, preferably in a non-profit environment. Education, such as Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field can be substituted for up to 5 years of experience.
• Strong proficiency in financial software (Great Plains but migrating soon) and Microsoft Office 365, specifically expert level skills in Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial staff.
• Knowledge of non-profit financial regulations and grant management is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player.

A note on qualifications: Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they are able to perform every task in the job description. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job and will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education and experience to meet minimum qualifications. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and skill set for the role.

Other General Expectations:

Work environment: Office or hybrid. The Financial Analyst will be expected to work from our Tigard office with options to work from home with proven ability to self-manage and if it does not negatively impact the work of others.

Be accessible during standard business hours ~9am - 5pm PST, Monday - Friday

Mostly sedentary work while utilizing standard office equipment.

Reasonable Accommodations are available, including, but not limited to, for disabled veterans, individuals with disabilities, and individuals with sincerely held religious beliefs, in all phases of the application and employment process.

New Narrative employees must live in the state of Oregon for payroll processing purposes.
