Job Description Summary

Participate in a paid internship program built around your career goals and hands-on projects that impact the organization. As part of the Lamb Weston University Recruiting Internship Program, Interns work towards completing a Capstone project and are assigned a mentor who will guide and evaluate performance. Whether you are interested in Agricultural Science, Data Science, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, Manufacturing, Food Science, Marketing, or Engineering, our highly selective summer intern program has projects that will help you build the next stage in your career.

- Paid internship, May - August (actual dates may vary)

Job Description

Support the Lamb Weston Finance Team with several projects related to the Finance function. Learn how to work as part of the Finance team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients. Skilled mentors within the team will be assigned for the duration of the program. Work experience will be built around projects and duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with financial analysis and modeling for various requests (develop reporting, customer analysis, competitive analysis, pricing, etc.)
  • Leverage data analytics to perform projects
  • Review process and controls, make recommendations for improvements and support implementation
  • Gather and assess the appropriateness of management corrective actions
  • Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording/maintaining accurate and complete financial records
  • Work with bookkeeping software and handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
  • Support Plant Leadership team with financial analysis in costs, capital projects, continuous improvements and other financial drivers
  • Assist with month-end close process and journal entries
  • Monitor and track key financial operational benchmarks

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be a current Junior, Senior, or Master's student enrolled in a related program: Finance, Accounting, Audit, Economics, MIS, Business, or related field
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred
  • This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday but a successful candidate may need to occasionally flex to other shifts (example: 2nd shift, night shift) as part of your capstone project
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to meet the Lamb Weston Authorized Driver standards
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work independently
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer competency and experience using a tablet and/or iPhone
  • Experience with MS suite of products desirable

A reasonable hourly estimate for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $22.00
