Position Title: Entry-Level Police Officer
The Board of Police Commissioners for the Village of Lake Villa is accepting applications for the position of Entry-Level Police Officer. All testing and required documents must be submitted no later than October 9, 2024.

Position Information:
Testing is being conducted to fill one immediate police officer position and to establish an Eligibility List for future hiring needs.
Salary Information:
Starting: $66,441.92
Top salary: $101,959.18 (after 7 years)
Current contract expires in 2026.

Hiring Process:
Complete the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and submit all required documents by October 9, 2024.
Complete the Frontline National Exam and Public Safety Self-Assessment (PSSA) through NTN. Candidates may take the test virtually or in person at an NTN testing center.
Complete the online interview through NTN.
Obtain a Physical Agility Test Card (POWER Test) from NIPSTA, Joliet Junior College, Triton College, or another ILETSB-certified facility no more than nine months prior to the written exam date.
Required documents, PHQ, PSSA, and the online interview must be completed by October 9, 2024, to be eligible for the initial eligibility list.
Background investigation and staff interview
Oral interview with the Police Commission
Post-offer examinations include psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, medical exam, and drug screening.

Job Requirements:
Age: Applicants must be under 35 years of age at the time of application and when the Final Eligibility Register is posted, unless exempt by law. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.
Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Driver's License: Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois driver's license.
College: Preference points may be added with proper documentation.
Academy Certification: Must successfully complete academy training assigned after hire.
Residency: No residency requirement for the Village of Lake Villa.
Physical Agility Test: Must obtain a Physical Agility Test Card (POWER Test) from a certified facility no more than nine months prior to the date of the written exam.
Additional Requirements: Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony or any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude as outlined in the Board of Police Commissioners Act.
