Assistant Store Manager
About the Role
We're looking for an Assistant Store Manager who will play a key role in overseeing store operations and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. In this leadership position, you'll supervise customer service associates and support overall store operations, working closely with the Store Manager to drive sales, improve efficiency, and maintain a welcoming store environment.
You'll take on leadership responsibilities, including hiring and training team members, managing store performance, and overseeing merchandising and inventory. If you thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoy leading a team to success, this role is for you!
What You'll Do
Customer Experience
Greet customers and assist them with products and services, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally while modeling best-in-class customer service.
Train and coach team members on customer engagement and service excellence.
Monitor customer service metrics and implement improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
Store Operations
Oversee daily store operations, ensuring tasks are assigned and completed efficiently.
Manage scheduling, time records, and shift changes to ensure proper staffing.
Support partnerships with external vendors and explore community outreach opportunities.
Oversee cash management, including register counts, deposits, and bookkeeping.
Ensure accurate pricing, inventory control, and merchandise resets.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store environment.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and local laws.
Business Performance & Leadership
Analyze store performance data and create action plans to drive sales and efficiency.
Support store leadership in identifying sales opportunities and implementing new initiatives.
Assist the pharmacy team during peak times, including serving as a pharmacy technician if needed.
People Management & Development
Lead, mentor, and train team members, providing coaching and career development support.
Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide regular feedback.
Participate in hiring decisions and ensure proper staffing to support store operations.
Foster a culture of accountability and teamwork through clear communication and expectations.
Training & Growth
Complete store leadership training and ongoing development programs.
Seek feedback and continuously work on personal and professional growth.
Maintain any required certifications, such as a pharmacy technician license if applicable.
Who You Are
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (all majors welcome) OR completion of a relevant internship program OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a customer-focused mindset.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours.
Willingness to relocate if promoted to a Store Manager position.
Fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
Retail or food industry experience.
Experience managing both front-end and pharmacy operations (for internal candidates).
