We're seeking a Data-Driven Storyteller to join our Communications team. In this role, you'll transform raw data into analysis and create compelling narratives that enhance our corporate reputation and create meaningful connections to our brand. You'll be a crucial team member responsible for mining data insights and crafting stories that generate media coverage and reveal the "why" people should be on Team Lyft.
**Impact**
As our Data-Driven Storyteller, you'll play an essential role in transforming our data into stories that matter, ultimately strengthening our brand connection and corporate reputation through evidence-based, human-centered narratives.
**Responsibilities:**
+ **Data Research & Analysis** : Mine and analyze data to uncover meaningful patterns and insights that can be transformed into compelling stories; also assist in response to media inquiries regarding data analysis
+ **Narrative Development** : Craft data-driven human interest stories and "under the hood" content that resonates with target audiences
+ **Media Strategy** : Partner with PR professionals to develop data-informed story angles and hooks for earned media placement
+ **Cross-functional Support** : Respond to data requests from Marketing & Communications leadership and other stakeholders to support earnings materials, partner announcements, etc.
+ **Newsjacking and Story Identification** : Track ongoing trends and news and Identify opportunities to newsjack
+ **Knowledge Sharing** : Train team members on data tools and techniques to enhance marketing effectiveness in targeting and other key areas
**Experience:**
+ Proven experience in data analysis tools like Mode, Google Analytics, and SQL
+ Strong storytelling abilities with a talent for making complex data accessible/engaging
+ Proficiency in developing tangential yet interesting angles related to a product launch and/or a cultural moment
+ Understanding of earned media and public relations principles
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to collaborate across teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
+ Experience in marketing analytics preferred
+ Proficiency with data analysis tools and visualization software

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule - Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $118,000 - $147,500. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
