JOB TITLE: Content Manager

DEPARTMENT: Marketing 

REPORTS TO:   Executive Director of Marketing 

FLSA STATUS: Full-time, Exempt 

SALARY: Competitive

RELOCATION:– NO

LOCATION: Tucson– Remote – Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY: The Content Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and collaborating on the ministry’s overall content strategy and curation and leading the Content Division team. They are responsible for managing and/or creating and producing online and offline content marketing content. The Content Manager will be responsible for curating and implementing the content strategy based on ministry goals and direction from the Executive Director of Marketing. This position is crucial to realizing ILM’s vision of the future.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees the development, distribution, and strategic execution of mission-aligned content to convey brand impact, stories, and audience engagement.
  • Develop content creation direction, plan calendars and cadence of curated campaigns, distributed across the ILM brand’s websites, digital outlets, social media channels, and new digital touchpoints.
  • Analyzing revenue generation opportunities from executed content, and digital channels and identifying strategies to implement in collaboration with our revenue team, that will bring positive revenue generation results through donation or advertising.
  • Responsible for driving engagement and audience traffic through our content projects and various formats and channels. Works collaboratively with internal marketing teams and cross-departmentally to execute content strategy and goals outlined with the direction of the Executive Director of Marketing.

  • Knowledge of digital content marketing software, tools, and methods for content curation, management, and SEO.
  • Travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required in A content-related field, communications, marketing, or an area of care related to content development.
  • 3-4+ years’ experience creating and curating content for a nonprofit, brand, agency, or corporation.
  • Effective cross-team collaboration and people/project management skills. Proven history leading a content and/or marketing team with servant leadership principles.
  • Proven results in content curation and execution for a company or brand.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products, digital SEO, and content engagement-related digital software and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent grasp of the English language.
  • Creative and innovative thinker and planner.
  • Confident in producing and curating content across multiple platforms.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed; ability to work independently or as an active team member. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • AI prompting and software knowledge are encouraged.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including confidence to interact with and influence staff at all levels, listening skills, responsiveness, flexibility, initiative, decision-making, conflict resolution, and tact.
  • Ability to consider content from the target audience perspective (donor, listener, audience) to meet their needs/interests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write, edit, and proof relational and business-related documents
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and cloud-based programs.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong Adobe software knowledge
