Job Description

Company Summary: AuSable Valley Community Mental Health Authority provides quality prevention, education, and mental health services, in a fiscally responsible manner, in Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties, which are aimed at improving the health and welfare of persons served, promote greater independence, and improve the quality of life for people in these counties with developmental disabilities, mental illness or substance use disorders.

SUMMARY:

The goal of this position is to support individuals served with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities to become active and integrated citizens within their communities. Assists in fostering the highest possible quality of life for individuals in the community, by providing supports and skill building consistent with the Plan of Service to increase independent functioning and decreasing the need for treatment in more restrictive settings. This will be accomplished by helping the individual to identify their personal preferences and implementing a plan of support which honors these preferences. Staff in this position will work in cooperation with individuals, families, community members, case holders and consultants as identified through the Person Centered planning process. Persons with Lived Experience with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities or substance abuse disorders are encouraged to apply. Requirements:
  • Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Michigan
  • Vehicle insurance as required by Michigan Law
  • Good driving record.
  • AVCMH will provide group home training needed to fill these positions
