Job Description

Location:
This position offers flexibility with a hybrid work schedule, allowing you to work four days in the office and one day remotely. We also welcome fully remote candidates residing in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arkansas, and New Mexico.

About the Role:
As a Commercial Lines Underwriter, you'll play a vital role in managing and expanding an assigned book of business while bringing in new clients. Your expertise will help assess individual risks, set terms and pricing, and foster strong relationships with agents and brokers. You'll also have the opportunity to provide guidance and informal leadership to junior underwriters, helping to shape the next generation of talent in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite new and renewal business by evaluating applications and making risk decisions that align with company guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with agents and brokers to maintain productive relationships and a healthy loss ratio.
- Contribute to product development and pricing strategies, while engaging in territory-based customer development.
- Participate in ongoing education and assist in training initiatives for team members.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in insurance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting or a similar role.
- Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to interpret business and regulatory information and maintain professional interactions.
