Matrix Providers is hiring a Clinical Psychologist to join our team of talented professions who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at the Naval Health Clinic in Quantico, VA.

  • Setting: Primary Care (Medical Health)
  • Role: Assess, diagnose, and treat diverse behavioral and mental health concerns while offering crucial psychological support and guidance.
  • Compensation: $77.00/hr.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
    • 40 hours per week (no nights, no weekends, no on-call)

Clinical Psychologist Requirements:

  • Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association-accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship in psychology
    accredited by the American Psychological Association.
  • Certification: BLS required

  • Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions
  • Licensure: Current, complete, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands.

Core Duties:

  • Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.
  • Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
  • Assist in rehabilitation of patients.
  • Use medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures. This includes acute, chronic, and traumatic illnesses/injuries, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology. Independently provide counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, couples, and families. Must practice within the bounds of the license or certification. Provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of psychosocial problems on healthcare and compliance with treatment. Prepare and maintain records and reports pertaining to specialty services.
