United Quality Cooperative - Chief Financial Officer

United Quality Cooperative is a locally owned co-op in Western North Dakota. We specialize in Agriculture, Energy, and Retail. Offering top-level customer service with a knowledgeable and experienced team bringing innovative solutions to our patrons. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to direct and oversee financial activities, prepare financial reports, and assist in forecasting future growth. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with department heads, analyze operations, and identify opportunities for expansion into new product areas.

Job Summary:

• Direct and oversee financial activities of the cooperative.
• Prepare financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
• Analyze operations and identify areas for improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Oversee Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
• Work with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses.
• Review planning process and suggest improvements.
• Identify opportunities for expansion into new product areas.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
• Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
• Five to ten years of accounting experience required.
