Check Processing Clerk Location Ogden, UT : Schedule: Mon - Sat Flex Overview: Responsible for daily processing of Deposit Return checks, foreign check collection deposits, or Inclearings & Exceptions. Balances assigned general ledgers. Responsible for completing related reports and records. Responsible to provide professional, courteous, and timely member service to members and credit union personnel. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties as required. Responsibilities:
1. Assumes responsibility some or all of the following assigned tasks: a. Foreign Institution Check Collection and member account adjustment. b. Member share draft In-clearings and Exceptions and return file processing. c. Returned Deposit Check Processing and member account adjustment. d. Collection item check processing. e. Business proof adjustments and research. f. Payment Services related research. g. Balancing of assigned GL's. h. Miscellaneous Payment Services functions. 2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relations with members, governmental officials, and trade contacts. a. Answers questions and resolves requests or problems promptly and courteously. b. Provides information regarding Credit Union policies and procedures. c. Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation. d. Ensures that members' service needs are met. 3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with Credit Union personnel and with management. a. Coordinates with related departments and provides assistance as needed. b. Supports, assists, and replaces Payment Services personnel as needed. c. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. d. Attends and participates in meetings as required. 4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. a. Keeps work area clean, secure, and well maintained. b. Performs related clerical duties as assigned. c. Completes special projects as needed. d. Stays informed of changes in policies related to check processing operations. Qualifications: Training/Education/Certification: - High school graduate or equivalent.
Required Knowledge: - Knowledge of check processing functions and checking account operations.
- Understanding of related adjustments and balancing.
Experience Required: - At least 1 year credit union experience.
Skills/Abilities: - Accurate and attentive to detail.
- Good math skills.
- Well organized.
- Able to operate related computer applications, computer terminals, 10-key, copier.
- Good communication abilities.
