KIPP New Jersey is part of the nationally recognized “Knowledge Is Power Program” network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to preparing students for success in college and in life. In 2002, KIPP New Jersey first opened its doors in Newark’s South Ward as a single class of 80 fifth graders and has since grown to educate 7,035 students in grades K-12 across 15 schools in Newark and Camden. Our APs of SPED lead campus-based special education departments in providing high-quality special education programming. The AP of SPED, along with the Director of Special Education and School Leader, carries out KIPP New Jersey’s vision for world-class special education services: effective and efficient SPED programming for all students with disabilities that allows them to meet their individual potential. The AP of SPED directly manages the special education team and is in constant communication with the school community as a whole.

KIPP New Jersey offers a market-competitive salary starting at $90,000 and increasing with each year of school leadership experience, most candidates will receive an offer between $90,000-$105,000. Salary ranges at KIPP are set based upon the role level and function using benchmarks in the education and non-profit sector and allow for growth within the role. Individual compensation within this range will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant professional experience and
