Job Description



AECOM Hunt has an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Project Manager for our exciting construction project in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

  • Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks.
  • Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently.
  • May interface with design team.
  • May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.
  • May interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.
  • Assists with and monitors change orders.
  • May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
  • Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract.
  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
  • Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed.
  • May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirement:

  • BA/BS Engineering/Construction Management or similar curriculum and two years of relevant construction project management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Engineering or Construction Management experience is preferred.
  • MEP construction experience (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
  • Experience from a large general contractor.
  • Experience with construction project management software (CMiC).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Knowledge of construction project management principles.
  • Construction experience in sports/arena/stadium highly preferred.
