Job Description

The **Aircraft Mechanic I** **(UH-60)** performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. + Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. + Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. + Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. + Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. + Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. + Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. + Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. + Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft. + Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance. + Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested. + Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality) **Minimum Requirements** + High School Diploma or equivalent is required. + U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required. + Valid up-to-date A&P license _(optional_ ) + Shall have **three (3) years aviation maintenance** experience, **two (2) years rotary wing aircraft** experience, and **two (2) years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS) UH-60** . + **All experience must be within the six most recent years.** + Valid Driver's License. + **Must provide own tools/toolbox** . Recruiters will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection. + **Must be able to work, day shift, swing shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift (if applicable) - As required for CBA.** + **Must be eligible to obtain a Passport and be able to travel internationally (applicable to OCONUS work sites).** **Clearance Requirements** **(as applicable)** + Must be able to obtain and maintain a **NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.** + Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. + **US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.** **Knowledge & Skills** + Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS. + Basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC). + Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems. + Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects + Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanic. + The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. **Physical Requirements/Working Environment** + Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. + Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. + Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. + May be required to lift/push/pull heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. + Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications. + Will handle dirty parts and lubricants. + Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). + Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification. + May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc. + May work in maintenance shop or outside. + Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty. + May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. + May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles. + May be expected to work in austere environments and all-weather conditions. **Hawaii Compensation Pay Transparency:** + HIRING SALARY RANGE: $87,921.60 - $42.27 - $ 45.71 (Hourly rate set by CBA) This position includes a competitive benefits package.
